I've always heard of other artists talking about how other artists come to their DMs and ask if they could commission them for their work. And, now that I've finally become a witness to it myself, it's safe to say that artists should NEVER do this to other artists. First off, it's just rude-not to mention it's an insult to another artist-for some random user to personally advert their services. If people are interested in purchasing art commissions (or whichever type of medium commission you offer), they will come looking for it themselves. People must advertise properly in a public space (for e.g. DA groups) where users interested in the same niche can observe your work and make their decision on whether it is deemed worth something to buy. But to come to another artist (me) who is already waiting for people to commission them and earn my OWN money just to have someone parade their cause and practically beg for money is just sad.
